JH Veterinary Imaging, PLLC

Meet Katlin Johnson, DVM

Katlin Johnson grew up in the heart of the DFW area, Irving, Texas. She attended UTA for her undergraduate degree, then went a little South to Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, where she graduated with Honors with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree.

While in private practice, Dr. Johnson treated many different animals, including a wide variety of exotic animals. She was always looking for better, non-invasive ways to help diagnose her patients and get her clients answers. This is how she developed an interest in ultrasound. Dr. Johnson sought advanced ultrasound training through WAVE (We Are Veterinary Education), a local veterinary ultrasound education group that Dr. Johnson still works with today. She has accumulated many hours of continuing education in both soft tissue and cardiac ultrasound. Dr. Johnson is also Fear Free Certified and Human Animal Bond Certified.

After 10 years in small animal private practice, Dr. Johnson decided to turn her primary focus to diagnostic ultrasound. She decided to start a mobile ultrasound practice to better serve pets in a larger geographic area.

Katlin Johnson now lives in Fort Worth with her family, which includes two small children as well as five fur-babies and three scaled creatures. In her spare time, Dr. Johnson spends time with her family, knits, and enjoys her seasonal garden.

Our Philosophy

Providing advanced diagnostics in-house

We all know that sometimes getting clients and patients to go to a specialist can be hard. But, when we need more information about a case to make the best clinical decisions we can, having advanced diagnostic tools available can make all the difference. And, when those diagnostics can take place in the comfort and familiarity of the general practitioner's office, clients and patients are happier.

“Do NO Harm”

This important phrase is part of the Veterinarian’s Oath for a reason. My goal is to make the ultrasound experience as physically and mentally safe as possible for the patients and your staff. Ultrasound itself is non-invasive and generally low risk. Patient well-being and safety is a priority, and any more invasive options will only be considered in light of the patient’s status and potential risks.

We are not replacing a specialist consult

Our goal is to help bring an additional diagnostic tool to your hospital so you and your clients can make the best clinical decisions for your patients. However, sometimes the best choice is to go to the specialist. If there is a not clear path forward, there are still too many differentials, or the treatment options require advanced knowledge and skill, then a specialist referral may still be recommended.
